Does This El Clasico Define Messi & Ronaldo?

Real Madrid came out deserved winners of the El Clasico at the weekend,3-1 versus a Barcelona side who drew first blood with a spectacular Neymar jr solo effort goal!

A closer look at this encounter seems to reveal so much concerning indexes etc as to where these two giants stand at the moment and maybe more as regards the future that awaits them.

                   Barcelona Need a new “Puyol”

Like everything in life, we never know how precious they are until we lose or do not have them anymore. Carlos puyol, ex Barcelona captain and central defender, was not the most elegant player ever but a diehard defender who sacrificed enormously his ‘glamour’ play for the interest of the team in being a 90% dedicated ruthless defender. Participating just cosmetically in teams build up when need be.

His presence and tactical defensive placements not only stopped loads of goals but delayed often the opponents onslaught at the centre of Barcelona’s defence and gave the team that desperately needed foundation to attack and dominate.

Today, though Gerard Pique and Mascherano are world class defenders, they lack total defence dedication and Barcelona struggled vs. a hyper offensive, fast and merciless Real Madrid team. Kind of like they did Vs Paris Saint Germain in the Champions league.

Defensively Barcelona are good but one just feels that this encounter against another Giant like Madrid reveals they need to up their defence to facilitate renewed world domination!

Ballon D’or 2014 winner will be a tight Fight

Though favourites to be named, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will have to go at it to the wire end to know who wins the FIFA Ballon D’or this time around as they both have good and credible arguments to lay claim to this.

Messi: FIFA World cup2014 Finalist and Best player award winner,2nd at the La Liga 2013/2014, leading scorer of his team and quite a force this season but loser of the el classico

Ronaldo: 1st round exit at the FIFA 2014 world cup with Portugal,3rd in La Liga 2013/2014 but Champions League winner, winner of El Classico and at the moment has scored more goals than most.

Recently crowned  La Liga’s best player among a hat-trick of awards he won at the Spanish top flight’s annual gala.

The Portuguese also won prizes for the league’s best striker and best goal, for his back-heel against valencia. The title might be Ronaldo’s

                                                         Messi Needs Help

Lionel Messi had probably one of the most quiet El clasico ever and it boils down to the fact that his team as a whole were just outclassed and hence he received lesser balls and support from his team as was in the past.

Barcelona need a strong Messi, hence his team mates would have to ginger up and provide him with more support.

Suarez as Expected is match rusty & Xavi ?

Luis Suarez would have preferred a better scenario to his first el clasico but what should the world have expected, this is his first real competitive encounter in 4 months! he needs games and a fitter Suarez would definitely make Barcelona stronger!

Imagine an attack of blazing Suarez,Neymar and King Messi!

On a sad Note I do feel for Xavi as he seemed to ,struggle to keep up pace and an imminent retirement could be in the works for this legendary midfielder!

Real Madrid Plays differently

Surprisingly Madrid came at Barcelona with a 1-4-4-2 system that they have used just in recent times. The introduction of Isco on the left midfield seemed to open up more room and options for Ronaldo as Madrid counter attacked!

Is this signs of the future or due to the non alignment of Gareth Bale? only time will tell

                                                        Neymar Jr Is Hot

9 goals and the most consistent Barcelona player since season start, Neymar is in form and his body language says it all. He is more comfortable under Luis Enrique as coach as was with his predecessor.

Mobile, intelligent runs, agile, fast and calm under pressure that’s the Neymar we are seeing now and it’s a pleasure to watch

Carlo Ancellotti, coach of real Madrid can Beat finally Barcelona after all!
